150% BOM
An informal name for a Modular BOM, reflecting that the structure contains more parts than any single product instance will ever use — it is 'over-specified' by design so that option logic can select the correct subset.
Why it matters
The 150% BOM concept makes explicit that the modular structure is a superset of any actual product configuration. Understanding this is important for PLM data management: a 150% BOM is not a valid production BOM and must not be used directly for manufacturing without configuration selection.
