As-Built Record
A record of the actual configuration of a specific product unit as it was manufactured — the components used, their revision levels and lot numbers, and any deviations from the design specification that were authorized at build time.
Why it matters
The as-built record is the ground truth of what was actually produced, which may differ from the as-designed configuration due to effectivity, authorized substitutions, or deviations. It is the starting point for all subsequent genealogy tracking.
