Data Interoperability
The ability of different systems, organizations, or processes to exchange, interpret, and use shared data accurately and without loss of meaning — including semantic consistency across format conversions.
Why it matters
Without interoperability, product data must be manually re-entered or converted at every system boundary, introducing errors, delays, and version mismatches that propagate downstream into manufacturing and supply chain decisions.
