Data Ownership
The assignment of accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and currency of a category of product data to a specific role or individual.
Why it matters
Data without an owner degrades over time. Explicit data ownership ensures someone is accountable for data quality and has the authority to enforce standards on that data.
