Data Stewardship
The organizational role and process responsible for maintaining the quality, accuracy, and governance of master data — including defining standards, resolving conflicts, and approving new data creation.
Why it matters
Technology alone cannot solve master data quality problems. Data stewardship assigns human accountability for data quality: someone is responsible for ensuring that every new part record meets the organization's standards before it enters the golden record.
