ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
US federal regulations that control the export of defense-related articles, services, and technical data, including engineering documentation and CAD models for items on the US Munitions List.
Why it matters
ITAR compliance is mandatory for defense and aerospace supply chains and imposes strict requirements on how PLM systems control access to technical data — non-compliance can result in criminal penalties and loss of export privileges.
