Product Genealogy
The complete, traceable history of a specific physical product instance, including its as-built configuration, component lot origins, post-manufacture modifications, and service history.
Why it matters
Product genealogy is the foundation for recall management, warranty processing, and regulatory compliance. Without it, manufacturers cannot determine which units are affected by a field issue, cannot defend warranty decisions, and cannot satisfy audit requirements in regulated industries.
